You are probably going to scan this blog quickly looking for dates and locations of where we are in the process of church planting. Now that you don’t see any, let me explain the progress we have made and how the plan will work moving forward.

This personal journey for my family and I began last year which you can read on the other post. We had been riding the fence for months as I used that time to confirm this was the direction God was leading. What was helpful was a church planting assessment that involved surveys done by me, or about me, by six other people. Along with the assessment I reviewed demographic reports learning about the median age, population per age group, while also comparing the general population to the available seats in the area evangelical churches. This comparison provided an approximate number indicating how many people still need to find and follow Jesus in the Goffstown area.

An exciting process known as a “windshield time” around the town was crucial in getting familiar with the area, getting the chance to meet people in a Goffstown coffee shop, and talking with Dan B (learn more about him at his post) in the Goffstown Public Library while getting eavesdropped on about when the church is going to start! This basic research and down time in downtown has given me and Dan the opportunity to meet some people from town and get a better feel for the spiritual climate of the area.

Most recently Dan and I have slowly been pulling together this webpage so that we can have a consistent tool in updating praises and prayer requests. To move forward in this process without earnest prayer is foolish. The next couple weeks will be important as we recruit those people who want to pray and be part of what God will do through this new church. That is the major focus of the stage we are in right now. Finding faithful sisters and brothers who will commit to praying for this new ministry as we press forward behind the scenes with the thousands of details that lay ahead.

As God adds to the team we will begin to take our vision, “to reach every man, woman, and child in Goffstown with an act of service, a word of kindness, and the good news of Jesus,” and develop a philosophy of ministry that will keep us focused on that vision.

Right now, the greatest thing you can do to help partner with us in this mission is to begin praying for Restore Church. If you subscribe to our updates, we can keep you current on the immediate needs of the church and the blessings from God as they happen as well as next steps in the near future. Please consider partnering with us in prayer and joining us for Prayer at 9 every Monday.
