It was one of those weeks where waiting with expectancy began to slowly fade into working through options to formulate a plan B. Friday morning came around and we were preparing for another weekend of waiting and wondering, having only one week left before the house was scheduled for foreclosure. The idea of possibly having to look for another house was nauseating and borderline cause for anger. Well, God took that nonsense away by choosing to “move the bank” which sent us into a celebration that rivaled the Patriots super bowl win!
We are scheduled to close on Wednesday and excited to begin working on this new house that God will use to reach people for Him. Sarah and I are reading a book on hospitality called The Simplest Way to Change the World. This book has challenged our hearts with thoughts like, “When we invite into our homes and lives those who are far from God, essentially we say to them, God loves you and He hasn’t given up on you. We present the message with our actions before we even get a chance to share the gospel with our words.” It’s a great read for any of you who want to grow in living on mission in your own home.
WAYS TO PRAY
1. The Gospel and our Neighborhood
Pray this week that God would work in our hearts and our new neighbors as we start renovations on the house and begin spending time there.
2. Financial Support
We are raising financial support through friends and family, pray that we would make the right connections with those who have a heart for church planting and reaching those far from God.
3. Praise Him!
Praise God for who he is, a good, good father!
