God provided a fun opportunity to share about Restore Church at New Hampshire Motor Speedway this weekend, and this week we have some things going on that we are excited about God doing great things with.
Recently a story recorded by the gospel writer Luke has been on my mind. Jesus had sent His disciples out into cities to engage people with a message of the kingdom while giving them power to work miracles... Over the last two months I have been doing much of the same thing the disciples had done; working at engaging anyone I can with the truth of Jesus and his amazing plan of building His church.
One fun icey event down for the summer, lots to go! Hear how our Ice Cream Bash went, how things are with finding a meeting place to rent, and our efforts to reach the people of G-Town for the cause of Jesus Christ.
Tonight, we had our first Life Group as we began studying the book of Acts at our house. We are excited to see how God will use this group of people to reach others with His love. Our desire is to see three Groups functioning before we consider a public service. Find out what to pray for this week here!
This past Monday was one of those days that will go down in the journal and be reflected on many times. Read the rest to find out why!
This post will be short glimpses of this past week as we've followed God and called on His power to use every opportunity for Him. As you read each one, stop to pray for the people and the circumstances involved before you move on.
We loaded up the family today to enjoy an afternoon celebrating my nephew's graduation from high school. My kids were extra excited because cousins were coming from South Carolina that they had not seen in two years. The anticipation of cousin time was rather obvious in our family as chores were done immediately and the van was loaded and the kids were in their seats before Sarah and I said a word.
Melanie in the office at Merrimack Valley Baptist Church completed our “Family Info Card” that we began handing out in the community. These cards have generated some fun conversations, opening the door to explain what Easter is about and another one on Catholic confession and Protestant confession. Read this post for an update on connecting with the community and to hear about some conversations we've been able to have!
Preaching, reaching, teaching, leading, meeting, greeting, gaining, praising, giving, receiving, praying, and more this week! Read this week's update to see what God did in Saturday's meeting, through a pastor friend, in a hospice room, and around the neighborhood.
Sunday marked the end of over ten years of serving in the teen ministry at Merrimack Valley Baptist Church for Landon and Sarah. It’s still hard to believe that chapter has ended, but we are excited by how God has opened doors here in Goffstown and we look forward to helping the lost find and follow Jesus.
Your prayer has enabled us to successfully move into a house that is quickly becoming our home. We thank God for the many people He has sent along to help renovate and speed up the process. This week also marks my last week at Merrimack Valley Baptist Church. See what God did last week and what we're praying He will do this week.
Jesus is risen! This Easter weekend we revel in the joy of the resurrection even as we face loss. "The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law. But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ!"
This week, read a short story of the progress being made on the Clouse house and hear how you can be praying for Landon and his family.
The process of church planting is often compared to the human birth process. The conception stage of a church plant is when values, mission, and other important things are established. To move into the next stage, prenatal, one key is for the church planter to be in the area of the new church plant.
It was one of those weeks where waiting with expectancy began to slowly fade into working through options to formulate a plan B. Read Landon's post to see what amazing thing God did this week to turn that around.
While Jesus was here on earth, a habit we see in the Gospels was for Him to pray anywhere and anytime. Before He ascended to Heaven, He shared His life of prayer as He taught about prayer, modeled prayer, and prayed with others.
This week, a focus on prayer and one major request for prayer from Landon you.
Last week saw a lot of movement, excitement, and ways forward for Restore Church. We are continuing to get closer in the legal process for the church. We continue to have conversations with people who are willing to volunteer with Restore or want to support it in various ways. And, we are continuing to get closer to moving into our new home in Goffstown.
The Clouse House is beginning to have stacks of boxes in every corner as we keep looking forward to our closing date of March 10. God answered prayer in regards to the issue with the front steps that we mentioned in last weeks update. We were able to get a contractor to submit an estimate to the underwriter for the repair and we are back on track to close!
We have been praying about reaching 100 people with this blog, and as of today we have 96 subscribers! Praise God for all of you who have dedicated yourself to prayer and hearing of what God is doing through this little plant.
In today's update, read about the continued evangelistic efforts in our neighborhoods, the latest about the Clouse House, and the legal side of opening a church.
I requested prayer last week for continued outreach to our neighbors here in Milford. Getting pummeled by snow on Thursday (and as I sit and watch an additional8-14 inches fall), most everyone stays inside except to the shovel their driveway. During snow clean up I talked with Betty as we rested on our shovels, and I shared with her why she needs Jesus and invited her to church.
